Chakrata -A Land Above Clouds
Chakrata sits at an altitude of 2,118 meters above sea level. This secluded hill town is spread in Dehradun district and 98 km away from Dehradun. The town was known earlier as Jaunsar bawar, a small hamlet of the Jaunsari tribe. The beautiful area is circled with rhododendron and Oak trees and view of the snow-covered Himalayas. Chakrata is blessed with natural beauties and a panoramic view. The Khamba peak is the highest in Chakrata with an elevation of about 10,000 feet.
