Chopta is blessed with snowfall in winters, that was the reason I too planned my trip in January 2020 by own car. because I wanted to witness that heavenly place when the hills are fully covered with snow, a place which is fully covered by a white sheet, and one can see the best view of Chopta.
Trekking on snow is very popular at Chopta, for the paths are well-marked, and the view is spectacular. Deoria Tal is a gorgeous lake in the valley, but due to heavy snowfall road mainly closed before 6 to 7 km before Chopta, so It recommended booking a hotel or camp in Deoria Tal which is 20 km approx.
