IDUKKI, KERALA (second biggest district of Kerala)
Idukki the district is a densely forested, mountainous region in the south Indian state of Kerala. In the north. Idukki is one of the most stunning hill stations in Kerala. where Neelakurunji flower blossoms in every 12 years.Idukki  Approx 97% encompassed by jungles and beautiful mountains. About 66% of the State’s Power comes from Power Projects in Idukki.The second-largest district in Kerela with forests, waterfalls, dams, wildlife sanctuaries, hill stations, hiking trails, and spice gardens. Idukki is the place where one can enjoy elephant rides, wildlife safaris, trekking, boating. there are three rivers  Thodupuzhayar, Periyar and Thalaya along with their tributaries keep Idukki evergreen. its a scenic beauty place and is believed to be a heaven for nature lovers .you can explore in Idukki on a fun getaway with your friends and family. Idukki is popular for hill stations, Wildlife Sanctuaries, to majestic waterfalls, dams, and not to forget, the historical places.



How to Reach (by air/train/road) 
Idduki The city does not have any airport. The nearest airport is in Cochin and its approx 100 km, one can easily hire a private taxi and reach there. Nearest  Railway station Kottayam  and its approx 114 km

Visiting time for Idukki Dam 
Visitors are allowed in the Idukki dam only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8 am to 5pm. Entry fee for adults is Rs 20 and children Rs 10. Items like mobile, camera, bags, etc., are not allowed and should be kept in the cloakroom outside the premises. Boating facility is also available at Rs 135 per person. The capacity of the boat is 20.


Best time to visit  
The place can be visited throughout the year, except the rainy season. However, winter  is the perfect time to visit the place and explore its different attractions.
